Learn the basics for extracting plant based water colors from experts at Allen Centennial Garden!

After a meet and greet with our flora, we will grind with mortar and pestle, add a dash of water, squeeze through muslin, and transfer to our watercolor palette. We'll be painting with marigolds, amaranth, geranium, pincushion, chamomile, and more 🌸

Paint on up to three full- or six half-sheets of watercolor paper or some combination. Instruction will include a basic painting demonstration that includes pH modification with citric acid and baking soda and several simple watercolor techniques. We'll have all the supplies needed, but you are welcome to bring your own brushes if you want to kick it up a notch.

This event will be hosted outside and take between 90 and 120 minutes to complete.

Tickets are $35 and include your first beverage.
